In short: the organizer sets the refund window, and inside it you get the full ticket price back. If the organizer cancels the event, you get your refund automatically: everything except the bank's payment-processing charge shown in your price breakup.
1. Who sets the policy
Every event shows its refund policy on the event page and at checkout. The organizer chooses one of these when listing:
- No refunds (you can still resell or transfer the ticket).
- Full ticket-price refund until a set number of days (1, 2, 3, 7, 14 or 30) before the show.
- 50% ticket-price refund until a set number of days (1, 2, 3, 7, 14 or 30) before the show.
2. Requesting a refund
Open My Tickets → Orders, pick the order and tap Request refund. We show the exact amount you'll get back before you confirm.
If your request is inside the refund window, it is approved automatically. Outside the window, the organizer decides, usually within 3 days.
3. What you get back
You get back the ticket price allowed by the policy (the full ticket price, or 50% of it). Our platform fee, the payment-processing charge and the GST on them are not refunded, because the booking has already been made and the bank has already charged for the payment. Checkout shows each of these amounts before you pay.
Refunds go to your original payment method (or your UPI ID if that isn't possible) within 5–7 working days of approval. Your bank may take a little longer to show it.
The refunded ticket is cancelled and its QR stops working.
4. If the event is cancelled
If the organizer cancels the event, or it does not take place as listed, you get your refund automatically. You don't need to ask: we start it and email you.
You get back everything you paid (the ticket price, our platform fee and GST) except the payment-processing charge and its GST shown in your price breakup. That part is kept by the bank and payment network for handling your payment, and is not returned to us either. For example, on a ₹581 order with ₹11.62 processing + ₹2.09 GST, you get back ₹567.29.
5. If the event is postponed
Your ticket stays valid for the new date. If you can't make it, you can ask for a refund within 7 days of the announcement. You get back the same amount as for a cancelled event: everything except the payment-processing charge and its GST.
6. Resale instead of a refund
Outside the refund window, you can resell your ticket on TapMyTicket for up to its face value (see Resale Terms), or transfer it to a friend once.
Refunds always go to the person who paid, back to the original payment method. After you transfer a ticket you can't request a refund for it, but if the event is cancelled its refund still comes to you.
7. If we cancel your order
If we have to cancel an order ourselves (for example a technical error or a pricing mistake), you get back everything you paid, including the payment-processing charge.
8. Failed or duplicate payments
If money left your account but you didn't get a ticket, or you were charged twice, the extra amount is refunded automatically within 5–7 working days. If it isn't, contact us with the payment reference.
9. Disputes
If the organizer rejects your request and you disagree, tap Escalate to TapMyTicket on the order. We review it and reply within 48 hours. You can also write to our Grievance Officer.
